Hi guys,
This is the video we watched earlier today. I would like you to view it again and post your comments on how web 2.0 can change the nature of the typical classroom in St. Lucia.

  1. Generally, I think that Web2.0 is a great idea in terms of modifying the traditional classroom in St. Lucia. It will not only make teaching easier for the teacher, but benefit the students as well. Some benefits of Web2.0 include that it is FREE, encourages Discovery Learning(Bruner,1960)and learning can take place anywhere at any time.

  2. It is a simple way to create relationships among schools. Web 2.0 is great because students can communicate with other students at other schools on the island and in the region. For instance, a teacher can post a recipe to Home Economics Departments in schools through out the island. Students can try out the recipe at their schools. They can then sample finihsed item, critic and modify it. We can create an online collection of recipes. Wow the possibilities are endless, I am excitted

  3. Web 2.0 has several benefits. These include; it is free, students will get an opprtunity to discover things on their own, there will be high levels of collaboration between teachers and students and students who do not feel comfortable making contritions in class will have the chance to voice their opinions.

  4. thinking of the problem created for children who are placed in a"lazy"group in the classroom. It will be quite benificial to them if they can collaborate with a more knowledgable other as stated by Vygotsky instead of being placed in a lazy group.
